Who are the EARFs?
Children’s fears are a thing of the past – Discover your emotional world with the Earfs. Many parents may feel overwhelmed by the emotional demand of their children. The Earfs are a family of fun, colourful, and time-traveling characters that help both parents and children navigate and understand the emotional world so that parents can support their children to be self-confident, content, and happy.
The Earfs are a species long forgotten by man. A long time ago they lived side by side with humankind, but for unknown reasons they remained invisible for thousands of years. The well-known professor Know-it-All, a researcher of the 15th century, studied the Earfs. In several of his historic papers he revealed that the Earfs are a peaceful species all about emotions. They are able to transform any kind of fear. They love to sing, dance, and bring happiness to their friends. Time and distance does not seem to be a problem as they are able to time travel and speak any language. The entire Earf’Family consists of 24 Earfs who are divided into four Earf’Clans. The Earfs bring you Earf’Power and Earf’Magic!

In my therapy session with children and adolescents I find feelings and emotions to be an important topic. It is not always easy to name emotional states, let alone to recognize them. The EARF’cards are very well received by children and adolescents. The ingenious thing is that it is very easy and fun to get into conversations with. In my work I use the EARFs as an “interim medium”: the children and adolescents begin to speak of their own emotions with ease and as if by themselves. By combining various cards, you can find your own creative solutions and find ways to master delicate everyday situations. As an Early Childhood Educator, I use the Earfs as a fun and easy way to encourage children to identify and express their emotions. The Earfs offer visual and playful messages to children of all ages. The Earfs represent each emotion as unique and reminds each child that they are special too
